Aluminum Foil Paper Separation Equipment

Aluminum foil separation equipment is primarily used to recycle composite aluminum foil, aluminum-plastic packaging, and other aluminum-containing composite materials. Through processes such as shredding, screening, and sorting, the equipment separates aluminum from paper or other non-metallic materials, thereby enhancing the efficiency of aluminum recycling and minimizing the waste of recoverable resources.

Aluminum foil packaging typically consists of an aluminum layer combined with paper, plastic film, or other materials. Processing these materials directly can often lead to issues such as material entanglement or incomplete separation. Consequently, production lines must be configured with specific processing equipment tailored to the structure of the raw materials.

Initially, a shredder breaks down large pieces of composite material into smaller, uniformly sized fragments, exposing the interfaces between the different constituent materials. The material then undergoes further separation processes, where mechanical action and appropriate sorting techniques are employed to progressively detach the aluminum from components like paper and plastic.

An aluminum foil separation production line generally comprises a shredder, fine-shredding or liberation equipment, a screening machine, and sorting equipment; the exact configuration depends on the type of raw material and the requirements for the final product.

Shredder: Performs initial volume reduction of aluminum foil and composite packaging, controlling the output particle size to facilitate subsequent processing.

Fine-shredding and liberation equipment: Further breaks down the material to improve the conditions for separating the aluminum layer from fibers or plastics.

Screening machine: Classifies materials by particle size, preventing the mixing of particles with varying dimensions from negatively impacting sorting efficiency.

Sorting equipment: Utilizes specific physical properties—such as electrical conductivity or density—to separate the aluminum from non-metallic components.

It should be noted that standard aluminum foil, aluminum-plastic composite films, and plastic-coated paper packaging possess different material structures; therefore, a uniform equipment configuration cannot be applied to all of them.

When selecting equipment, key factors to consider include the aluminum content of the raw material, moisture content, the structure of the composite layers, the input particle size, and the target processing capacity. Finer shredding is not necessarily better: excessively large particles may result in insufficient liberation of the materials, while particles that are too fine can lead to increased dust generation, loss of material, and greater difficulty in the sorting process. For continuous production, it is recommended to conduct trial runs using the actual raw materials, with a focus on evaluating the aluminum recovery rate, the purity of the recycled aluminum, the level of non-metallic inclusions, and the energy consumption per unit of material processed. Achieving an optimal balance between equipment throughput, separation efficiency, and operating costs requires the effective integration of the crushing, screening, and sorting processes.
